Eight 2 litas denomination coins of different design dedicated to Lithuanian resorts and resort sites will be issued this year and next year. By a resolution of the Bank of Lithuania, a series of coins of this denomination is to be launched for the first time with these coins appearing in circulation every several months.
1. A coin dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Riga Technical University.
2. A coin to celebrate the centenary of Riga Zoo.
3. A coin in honour of Latvian Olympic athletes.
4. A coin dedicated to Latvian sculptor K. Zāle.

6. A coin celebrating the Latvian national traditions.
7. A coin to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Bank of Latvia and national currency.

The Board of the Bank of Lithuania approved the plan of issue of collector (commemorative) coins in 2012-2013. The programme of coin issue for the coming two years will be especially interesting to numismatists due to its novelties. One of them is the planned issue of 25 litas denomination collector coin for the first time.

The Board of the Bank of Lithuania approved the results of the tender of graphic designs of the 50 litas collector (commemorative) silver coin dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Gabriele Petkevicaitė-Bite. The first place was given to the designs of Rimantas Eidejus. Also, the Board approved the inscription on the edge of the coin: AD ASTRA (three times).
The Board of the Bank of Lithuania approved the sample commemorative 50 litas silver coin featuring the Lithuanian nature.
The graphic design of this coin was created by Vytautas Narutis and the plaster model was made by Giedrius Paulauskis. The sample was minted by UAB ,,Lietuvos monetu kalykla“ (Lithuanian Mint).

Bank of Lithuania has published the project of the coin "Biržai Castle". Vytautas Narutis is author of the project of the coin. The coin will be put into circulation in the third quarter of 2010.
