Pylyp Orlyck

Commemorative coins of 10 Hryvnias denomination is dedicated to Pylyp Orlyck (1672 – 1742), a representative of Ukrainian noble family and Ivan Mazepa's companion-in-arms, who became a Hetman in exile. He was the author of the first Ukrainian constitution "Pacts and Code of Laws and Freedoms of Zaporizhzhia Army" (1710), which is a historical document of political and legal thought of Ukraine at the beginning of 18 th century, regulating principal issues of state building in Ukraine. In circulation since May 30, 2002.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse there is the composition similar to the whole Series of coins which embodies the National idea of the Unified Ukraine: the small State Emblem of Ukraine is supported by the heraldic figures of Michael the Archistrategos and crowned lion, which are symbols of Kyiv and L'viv Cities. On the coin there are the conventionalized inscriptions: УКРАЇНА/ 2002/ 10/ ГРИВЕНЬ, the Mint logo, as well as the designation of precious metal - Ag 925 and its pure weight - 31,1.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse within beads circle there a depiction of Pylyp Orlyck suppounded by his Cossack companion-in-arms with his uplifted right hand holding an unfolded roll of "Pacts and Code of Laws..."Between the coin external rim and the bead circle there is an conventional inscription: ПИЛИП ОРЛИК and his years of life: 1672 - 1742 - beneath, to the left.
