Volodymyr Monomakh

The coin is dedicated to Volodymyr Monomakh (1113-1125), the Grand Kyivan Prince, an outstanding old-rus public and political figure, the author of a number of laws and the famous "Sermon" addressed to children and the organizer of successful campaigns against invading tribes of Polovtsy. During the reign of Volodymyr Monomakh there stopped intestine wars between princes and a new stage in development of culture and art was launched.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse within the frame of ancient-Rus ornamentation, recreated to the motives of an old manuscript's setting, there is a depiction of the small State Emblem of Ukraine and conventionalized descriptions:  2002 / УКРАЇНА / 10 / ГРИВЕНЬ /, as well as the Mint logo, designation of the metal Ag 925 and its pure weight -31,1.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse upon the background of structures of an old-Rus town, there is a half-length portrait of the prince with a folio in his hands. To his right there is a depiction of George-the Fighter against Dragon, as well as conventionalized  inscriptions: ВОЛОДИМИР 1113 МОНОМАХ 1125 (above) and in two lines: КНЯЖА / УКРАЇНА (beneath).
