Coins are dedicated to Sorochynsky Fair, a genuine trade festival which was poetized by Mykola V.Hohol in one of his tales of the "Nights at the khutor near Dykan'ka" series. In circulation since August 17, 2005.
Obverse:
On the coin obverse in the centre and on the background of the Ukrainian landscape there is a depiction of Mykola V.Hohol and Rudy Pan'ko, his literary character, above there is a semicircular inscription: УКРАЇНА, beneath - the small State Emblem of Ukraine, 20-05, the coin mintage year and inscription: 5/ ГРИВЕНЬ and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse:
On the coin reverse there is a multi -figured composition, typical for a country fair of 19th-20th centuries; above there is a semicircular inscription: СОРОЧИНСЬКИЙ ЯРМАРОК.
