New Kazakhstan coins from Red book series

The National Bank of Kazakhstan has put into circulation 50 and 500 tenge coins from "Red book" series dedicated to the Dalmatian Pelican (Pelecanus Cris). Coins are issued in circulation on June 11th 2010.

50 tenge CuNi coin.
Face value: 50 tenge;

Diameter – 31 mm, thickness – 2 mm, weight – 11,17 gram;

The lateral surface (drove) is grooved with 10 sectors of corrugation;

Averse: right part depicts stylized image of pelican head, the face value of the coin «50 ТЕҢГЕ», trade mark of Kazakhstan Mint; left part depicts two birds against water surface background; name of issuing bank in Kazakh «ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ» along circumference.

Reverse: image of Dalmatian pelican; name of the coin "БҰЙРА БІРҚАЗАН" in Kazakh language and Latin name "PELECANUS CRISPUS"; year of coinage “2010”.

Mintage: 50000 pcs.


500 tenge silver coin.

Face value: 500 tenge;

Quality: proof, metal - silver 0.925;

Diameter – 38.61 mm, weight – 31,1 gram;

Averse: right part depicts stylized image of pelican head, the face value of the coin «500 ТЕҢГЕ», «Ag 925 31,1 gr.» means metal, standard of coinage and weight, trade mark of Kazakhstan Mint; left part depicts two birds against water surface background; name of issuing bank in Kazakh «ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ» along circumference.

Reverse: image of Dalmatian pelican; name of the coin "БҰЙРА БІРҚАЗАН" in Kazakh language and Latin name "PELECANUS CRISPUS"; year of coinage “2010”.

Mintage: 5000 pcs.
