The jubilee coin is dedicated to T.H. Shevchenko National Museum, one of the largest museums of Ukraine dealing with literature and art. Within the museum collection there are kept originals of Great Kobzar’s artistic works, manuscripts of his poetry, editions of Shevchenko’s writings issued in his lifetime with his autographs, photos, memorial objects, almost all editions of poet’s works, literature on studies of his creative work, etc. Issued into circulation on April 29, 2009.
