"Volodymyr the Great" change coin of 1 Hryvnia denomination is dedicated to the great Kyiv prince and public figure during whose reign the formation of the ancient-Rus state was accomplished and the Christianity as a state religion was introduced.
This coin issued for numismatic purposes, in particular for the 'Circulation Coins of Ukraine' set in a souvenir packaging. Rare coin. The field of coin is mat, the relief elements of obverse and reverse are polished.
Obverse:
On the coin obverse above there is the Small State Emblem of Ukraine; beneath - the coin mintage year - 2008 and within the frame of an old-rus ornamental pattern there is a three-lined inscription: УКРАЇНА / 1 / ГРИВНЯ, as well as the Mint logo of the National bank of Ukraine.
Reverse:
On the coin reverse there is a depiction of the prince Volodymyr the Great holding a cross in his right hand and a conventionalized depiction of the Church of Tithes in his left hand, as well a circular inscription: ВОЛОДИМИР ВЕЛИКИЙ.
