Year of the Cat (Rabbit, Hare)

The commemorative coin is dedicated to the year of the Cat (Rabbit, Hare) according to the calendar of the Chinese origin based on the twelve-year cycle of the Jupiter.

Obverse:

Obverse: above there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК/ УКРАЇНИ (National Bank/of Ukraine) thereunder; within a conventionalized vegetable ornamentation pattern there is the coin face value 5/ ГРИВЕНЬ (5/ Hryvnias); below there is the coin issue year indication 2011, as well as the indications of the metal and its fineness Ag 925, coin weight in fineness 15,55 g and the National Bank of Ukraine Mint logotype.

Reverse:

Reverse: within a conventionalized vegetable ornamentation pattern there is depicted in a technique of a cheap popular print a cat (the cat’s eyes are represented by green alpinites). Both above and below this composition there is a depiction of contour figures of all 12 symbols of the Oriental calendar.
