The National Bank of Kazakhstan has put into circulation į00 tenge coin "10 Years of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation" on March 29th, 2011.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is an intergovernmental mutual-security organisation which was founded in 2001 by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Except for Uzbekistan, the other countries had been members of the Shanghai Five, founded in 1996; after the inclusion of Uzbekistan in 2001, the members renamed the organisation.
Averse: State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan framed by quintuple turning ornamental eight-point rosette; name of the issuing bank in Kazakh "ҚАЗАҚСТАН YЛТТЫК БАНКI"; face value of the coin "500 ТЕҢГЕ"; trade mark of Kazakhstan Mint; "31,1 gr." means the coin weight; "Ag 925" means metal and standard of coinage.
