The National Bank of Kazakhstan has put into circulation 500 tenge "Sturgeon" coin on June 18th, 2011. Coin issued under "Fauna of Kazakhstan" coins series.

The coin is made in the shape of oval.

Obverse: Face value "500 ТЕҢГЕ", trademark of Kazakhstan Mint, stylized image of the sturgeon, waves and sun, The name of issuing bank in Kazakh “ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ”, and metal, fineness and weight of the coin "Ag 925 24 gr.".

Reverse: Stylized image water surface and two sturgeon in the centre, one image of a sturgeon is gilded, name of the coin in Kazakh of the oval "БEKІРE" at the bottom and year of coinage “2011”, the name of the species in Latin «ACIPENSERIDAE» at the top.

Images and inscription of the obverse and reverse sides are relief.
Lateral face is grooved.
