Mikhail Yangel
Mikhail Kuzmich Yangel (Михаил Кузьмич Янгель in Russian) (October 25 (O.S.: November 7), 1911 - October 25, 1971), was a leading missile designer in the Soviet Union.
Obverse:
above there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular legend НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine); lower there is a conventionalized composition representing the shot of the first `Kosmos` launch vehicle and the first artificial satellite developed by the OKB-586 Design Bureau (nowadays Pivdenne (Yuzhnoye) Design Bureau); to the right indicated are the coin face value and issue year 5/ГРИВЕНЬ/2011 (5/hryvnias/2011).
Reverse:
there is a portrait of Mykhailo Yangel; to the left thereof there is the inscription 1911-/1971 (Yangel`s life years); to the right there is the inscription МИХАЙЛО ЯНГЕЛЬ (Mykhailo Yangel).
