Central mosque (Almaty)

Date of issue: 22 December, 2006. The coin "Central mosque" (Almaty city) is the first coin of the "Mosques and cathedrals of Kazakhstan" series, which is called to contribute to understanding of the Kazakhstan culture and to the idea that religion is a world training in mental and moral self-perfection of a person. Central Republic Mosque in the city of Almaty is one of the imposing mosques in CIS. It was constructed in 1999.

Obverse: 
Obverse: The State Emblem of Republic of Kazakhstan is placed in the center of the coin. On the circumference an inscription "500 ТЕҢГЕ" indicates coin's face value with inscriptions " ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ " and "РЕСПУБЛИКА КАЗАХСТАН". Inscriptions are divided by dots.
Reverse: 
Reverse: An image of Central Republic Mosque against mountains and buildings of Almaty. The name of the coin in Kazakh "ОРТАЛЫҚ МЕШIТ" and Russian "ЦЕНТРАЛЬНАЯ МЕЧЕТЬ" is placed on the upper part. Between these inscriptions there is trade mark of Kazakhtan mint, and under the inscriptions the location and the year of coinage are indicated. "Ag 925  31,1 gr." at the bottom means metal, fineness and weight of the coin.
