Umay
issued in 29 December, 2001. Series of coins called "Petroglyphs of Kazakhstan", devoted to rock painting from ancient times. Umay - female deity, is patroness of hearth, children, arts. Kudyrge Tract, Mountain Altay. Tardy nomads, ancient turks tradition VI-VIII centuries.
Obverse:
On the obverse of the coin against a background of the national ornament elements, the figure "500" is shown. Under it there is the inscription "ТЕҢГЕ", indicating the face value of the coin. On the upper side of the coin is a heraldic representation of a spiral. Circling the coin is a wide salient edging, on which the legend "ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ" in the Kazakh language and the figure "2000", indicating the year of coinage, are located.
Reverse:
At the back side of the coin against a background of conventionalized gravestone the representation of the Umay Deity (from the Kadyrge Tract) is located. At the left sector of the coin, the legend "Ag 925 24 gr." indicates the metal of the coin, its standard and weight. On the right side is a trademark of the Kazakhstan Mint. Circling the coin is a wide salient edging, on which the legends "УМАЙ ТАУЛЫ АЛТАЙ" in Kazakh, and "UMAI MOUNTAIN ALTAI" in English, are located.
