Obverse: 
In the obverse upside of the coin of polishing circle there is an Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan framed by quintuple turning ornamental eight-point rosette and legend in Kazakh "ҚАЗАҚСТАН YЛТТЫК БАНКI". In the downside there is nominal figure "500" and under it is a legend " ТЕҢГЕ ". To the left of nominal there are trade mark of Kazakhstan Mint and legend "24 gr.", indicating the coin weight. To the right a legend "Ag 925" indicates the metal the coin is made of and its standard. Circling the coin are a salient edging and glass band.
Reverse: 
In the reverse side of the coin on the middle of the polishing circle against a background of the national flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan there is a fragment of the upside monument of the Independence located at the square of the Republic in Almaty. To the right from soldier there is a legend "10 ЖЫЛ" located into two rows. To the upside on the circumference - a legend in Kazakh "ТӘУЕЛСІЗ ҚАЗАҚСТАНҒА". To the downside a figure "2001" indicates the year of coinage. On the circumference there is salient edging.
