On the occasion of hosting the Final tournament of the Euro 2012 Football Championship, which will be held from 8 June to 1 July, the National Bank of Ukraine issues into circulation a series of commemorative coins devoted to this Championship.
 
This series will comprise 11 coins, including coins made of gold, silver and German silver as well as a circulation coin of 1 hryvnia face value. All the coins will bear the official Euro 2012 logo, as the National Bank of Ukraine hasreceived permission to use the official symbols of this championship.

5 coins were issued into circulation on December 1st 2011.

10 hryven coins are dedicated to cities of Final tournament: Kiev, Lviv, Doneck, Charkov. Coins are made from silver weight is 31.1 gr, diameter 38.61 mm, quality proof, mintage 15 000.

20 hryven silver coin is dedicated to Final tournament. Face value of the coin is 20 hryven,  weight is 62.2 gr, diameter 50.00 mm, quality proof, mintage 15 000.

The presentation of a complete series of commemorative coins is scheduled at the end of December 2011, which will be followed by the disposal of all types of coins.
