Abilkhan Kasteev

Date of issue: 31 August 2004. Edge: 10 sectors of corrugation Coin devoted to the 100th anniversary of A. Kasteev. Abilkhan Kasteev (1904-1973) was a painter, graphic artist, one of Kazakh fine arts founders. He is an author of more that 2000 paintings, water-colours and drawings, which made up peculiar art chronicle of Kazakhstan in XX century.

Obverse: 
On the face of the coin (averse), on its upper side the state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located and under it there is a two-line inscription "50 ТЕҢГЕ". From the right and left side of the denomination there is the element of national ornament. On the circumference there is the legend "ҚАЗАҚСТАН YЛТТЫҚ БАНКI" (National Bank of Kazakhstan).
Reverse: 
On the back side of the coin, on its central part the portrait of Abillkhan Kazseev, people's painter, laureate of State Prize named Shokan Valikhanov is represented. From the left side of the portrait there in two lines inscription "100 ЖЫЛ". From the right side there is a representation of painter's palette with brushes and figure "2004", which is the year of coinage. At the topside, along the circle there is an inscription "Ә. ҚАСТЕЕВ".
