Obverse: 
On the face of the coin (averse), on its upper side the state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located and under it there is a two-line inscription "50 ТЕҢГЕ". From the right and left side of the denomination there is the element of national ornament. On the circumference there is the legend "ҚАЗАҚСТАН YЛТТЫҚ БАНКI" (National Bank of Kazakhstan).
Reverse: 
On the back side of the coin, on its central part there is a portrait of Akhmet Zhubanov, national artist of Kazakh SSR, state prize laureate, member of RK Academy, composer. From the right side the portrait there is the year of birth of the composer "1906", figure "2006" indicates the year of coinage. In the lower part of the coin there is the name "АХМЕТ ЖҰБАНОВ" in Kazakh language.
