This gold commemorative coin depicting Capricorn has been issued by the Central Bank of Armenia under the International Program “The Signs of Zodiac”. Capricorn is one of the oldest constellations of the zodiac. It is often depicted as a goat with a fishtail, since it falls in an area of the sky known as the Sea or Water. Capricorn is associated with the Greek myth of the goat Amalthea who provided the infant Zeus with milk, and Zeus placed her in the sky to honor her. The astrological period called Capricorn takes the period from December 22 to January 19. The coin issued with colored inks.
