The National Bank of Kazakhstan has put into circulation bimetal 500 tenge coin "Baikonur" from coin series "Property of the Republic" on July 27th, 2012.

Face value: 500 tenge;
Quality: proof, bimetal - silver 0.925 14.6 g. and tantalum 26.8 g.
Diameter – 38.61 mm, weight – 41,4 gram;
Mintage: 5000 pcs.

Obverse of the coin: Composition of starry sky and two human figures as symbol of unity of man and the Universe; face value “500 ТЕҢГЕ” and weight with metal of the coin “Ag 925 14.6 gr. Та 26.8 gr.”, trade mark of Kazakhstan Mint, year of coinage in the left sector; inscription in Kazakh “ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ” and in English “REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN” along circumference.

Reverse of the coin: Images of orbits of satellites with compounds outline of shanyrak, which is interpreted in nomads world as the window to the space opened for all mankind be Baikonur space centre; inscription in Kazakh “БАЙҚОҢЫР”, in Russian “БАЙКОНУР” and in English “BAIKONUR” along circumference.
