The National Bank of Ukraine has put into circulation 5 hryvnen "500 years to the city of Chyhyryn" coin on October 10th, 2012 from Ancient cities of Ukraine coin series.

Face value of new "500 years to the city of Chyhyryn" coin is 5 hryven, metal - nickel silver, weight 16.54 g, diameter 35 mm, proof quality. Mintagage 30 000 pcs. Coin is minted at the Mint of National Bank of Ukraine.

Chyhyryn (Ukrainian and Russian: Чигирин, Polish: Czehryń) is a city located in Cherkasy Oblast of central Ukraine. From 1648 to 1669 the city was the capital of Ukraine (Cossack Hetmanate).
