The construction of St. Petersburg - Warsaw railway line started in 1852 at the expense of the Treasury in accordance with the order of the Vilna, Grodno, Minsk and Kovno governor-general dd. March 1, 1852 under #5 “On the construction of St. Petersburg-Warsaw railway”. It is from December 15, 1862 starts a permanent railway traffic across the territory of Belarus. St. Petersburg - Warsaw railway line which was running through the territory of Belarus has had an impact not only on the economic development of Belarus but also has written many glorious pages in its political history.
