The National Bank of Belarus on December 28th, 2012 issued into circulation new silver and copper-nickel commemorative coins “The Common Swift” of the “Bird of the year” series:
Silver coin – face value 10 rubles, purity 925, weight 16.81 g, diameter 32 mm, mintage 2000 pcs., quality proof;
CuNi coin -face value 1 ruble, weight 13.16 g, diameter 32.00 mm, mintage 2000 pcs., quality proof-like;
Obverse:
At the top — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; in the center — the representation of a small bird held in the palms, beneath — the year of issue (the alloy standard on the silver coin); and circumferential inscriptions: at the top — РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS) and at the bottom — the denomination: 10 РУБЛЁЎ (10 RUBLES) on the silver coin and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE) on the copper-nickel one.
Reverse:
In the center — the relief image of the curlew (it has been named bird of the year 2012 in Belarus); and circumferential inscriptions: on the left side — ЧОРНЫ СВІРГУЛЬ (THE COMMON SWIFT) and on the right side— ПТУШКА ГОДА (BIRD OF THE YEAR.Coins are round, the edge is reeded.
Coins are minted at The Kazakhstan mint of NB RK, Ust–Kamenogorsk
