New Kazakhstan coin Kurmangazy

The National Bank of Kazakhstan has put into circulation gold 500 tenge "Kurmangazy" coin from coin series "Portraits on banknotes" on June 7th, 2013.

The portrait of the national composer Kurmangazy was placed on the face side of banknote of 5 tenge denomination of the 1993 sample. Currently the banknote is withdrawn from circulation.

Kurmangazy Sagyrbaev (Kazakh: Құрманғазы Сағырбайұлы; Russian: Курмангазы Сагырбаев; 1823–1896), was a Kazakh composer, instrumentalist, and folk artist. He is buried in the Astrakhan region of Lower Volga in today's Russian Federation.

State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the center, face value «500 ТЕҢГЕ» in the bottom, elements of national ornamental design to the left and right from the center, an inscription «ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ» in Kazakh and «РЕСПУБЛИКА КАЗАХСТАН» in Russian alone circumference, logo of National Bank of Kazakhstan at the upper sector.
