The Budslau Mother of God Icon is one of the most adored Catholic holy icons in Belarus. It is located in the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Budslau of Myadel Minsk region. During the Second World War the front line went through Budslau thrice, but no bomb fell on the church – so that both the catholic church and the famous Budslau icon miraculously survived. The Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary painted with oil, freely interpreted by the spirit of the Italian Renaissance, it is a waist-high depiction of the Mother of God and belonged to the Western type of Hodigitria.
