Armenia’s Central Bank has put into circulation new commemorative silver coin, dedicated to 20 years of Armenia’s national currency, the dram.
The obverse of the coin depicts the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia and the emblem of the 20th anniversary of the Armenian dram. To the left of the emblem one can see the year of issuance of the coins-2013, and at the top and bottom edge of the coin there are the words “Hayastani Hanrapetutiun” and “Republic of Armenia” engraved in semi-circle.
The reverse depicts the building of the Central Bank of Armenia and the engraved lines, reminiscent of the security features of banknotes, and the top and bottom edges of the coin have engraved words in semi-circle “Azgayin Drami 20 Tarin” and “20 years of national currency”.
Overall 500 silver coins with a face value of 1,000 drams were released. The coins are made of high quality silver. Their diameter is 38 mm and the weight is 31.1 grams. The coins were designed by Vardan Vardanyan and minted by the Royal Mint of the Netherlands.
