Eesti Pank issued a silver €10 collector coin dedicated to the dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Miina Härma on June 16th 2014.
The date 9 February 2014 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Miina Härma, the Estonian composer, choir leader and organist. Miina Härma wrote over 200 songs, most of them for choirs, making her a major contributor to the repertoire of Estonian song festivals. In this way the collector coin dedicated to the work of Miina Härma fits well with this year's 26th Estonian Song Celebration and 19th Dance Celebration “Touched by Time. The Time to Touch”.
The front of the coin bears the coat of arms of the Republic of Estonia and the year 2014, and the reverse pure tonal vibrations resonating from a tuning fork as a symbol of the music teacher, conductor and composer, the words "Miina Härma 150", and the nominal value of the coin of ten euros. The coin was designed by Jaano Ester.
The proof quality silver (Ag 925) collector coin weighs 28.28 grammes and is 38.61 mm in diameter, The coins are being minted in the Royal Dutch Mint, the Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt and 7500 will be issued.
