The collector coin issued by the Central Bank of Armenia is dedicated to the 20th World Football Championship of 2014. The host country of the Championship is Brazil. FIFA tournaments have always attracted attention of organizations which issue notes and coins. Among the various issues collector coins take a special place since the most important football events of the world and their participants are represented in precious metals. While obtaining collector coins football fans and coin collectors gain an opportunity to feel as co-participants of the unique FIFA tournaments and to keep memory of them for a long time. The “2014 World Football Championship” collector coin continues the series of silver collector coins of the Republic of Armenia that commemorate the World Football Championships of 1998 (France) and of 2006 (Germany).

Obverse: the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia; the producer’s stamp, the nominal value “100 ԴՐԱՄ.DRAM” and the date of issue “2014” are beneath it; “ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ” and “REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA” are inscribed along the rim.

Reverse: in the upper and lower semicircles - the flags of the 32 participant-countries of the 2014 World Football Championship; in the centre - the names of the countries and the inscription “2014 FIFA WORLD CUPTM”.

Technical characteristics of the coin: mintage 5.000 pcs, the face value is 100 drams. The coins are made of 925 fine silver; diameter 38.6 mm and weight 20 grams.
