On July 31st, 2014, the National Bank of Ukraine puts the “The 180th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv” commemorative coins of 5 and 2 hryvnia face values into circulation.

The coin of 5 hryvnia face value is made from silver with a fineness of 925, weight in fineness – 15.55 g, diameter – 33.0 mm, quality − “special uncirculated”, mintage – 3,000 pieces. The coin edge is with incised legends: the indication of metal and its weight in fineness.

The coin of 2 hryvnia face value is made from German silver, quality− “special uncirculated”, weight – 12.8 g, diameter – 31.0 mm, mintage – 20, 000 pieces. The coin edge is grooved.

Coins are minted at the Mint of National Bank of Ukraine
