New Ukrainian coin Inspired by O.P.Dovzhenko’s Works

On August 22nd, 2014, the National Bank of Ukraine puts commemorative coin “Inspired by O.P.Dovzhenko’s Works” of 20 hryvnia face value into circulation. Coin issued under "" coin series.

Alexander Petrovich Dovzhenko (Ukrainian: Олександр Петрович Довженко, Oleksandr Petrovych Dovzhenko; Russian: Алекса́ндр Петро́вич Довже́нко, Aleksandr Petrovich Dovzhenko; September 10 [O.S. August 29] 1894 – November 25, 1956), was a Soviet screenwriter, film producer and director of Ukrainian origin. He is often cited as one of the most important early Soviet filmmakers, alongside Sergei Eisenstein and Vsevolod Pudovkin, as well as being a pioneer of Soviet montage theory.

The coin of 20 hryvia face value is made from silver with a fineness of 925, weight in fineness – 62.2 G, diameter – 50.0 mm, quality − “special uncirculated”, mintage – 2,000 pieces. The coin edge is with incised legends: the indication of metal and its weight in fineness.
