The National Bank of Belarus on February 4th, 2015 puts into circulation new silver and copper-nickel commemorative coins “Mikolaj Radziwill the Black” of the "Strengthening and Defending the State” series:
Silver coin – face value 20 rubles, purity 925, weight 33.63 g, diameter 38.61 mm, mintage 2000 pcs., quality proof;
CuNi coin - face value 1 ruble, weight 15.5 g, diameter 33.00 mm, mintage 3000 pcs., quality proof-like;
Coins are round, the edge is letttered. The coins’ edge bears an inscription: УМАЦАВАННЕ І АБАРОНА ДЗЯРЖАВЫ (STRENGTHENING AND DEFENDING THE STATE).
Coins are minted at The Kazakhstan mint of NB RK, Ust–Kamenogorsk.
Mikołaj Radziwiłł “the Black”, Duke of Olyka and Nesvizh, Marszałek of the GDL, Voivode of Vilnius and Chancellor of the GDL, born on 4 February 1515, was a political figure of extraordinary talent and exceptional brightness in the 16th c.
