New Armenian coin The Centenary of the Armenian Genocide

Central Bank of Armenia issued commemorative coins dedicated to the Armenian Genocide centennial, the bank public relations department reports. The Armenian Genocide memorials, including the Monument to the grieving mother (Izhevsk), Komitas Monument (Paris), Khachkar-Memorial (Etchmiadzin), Memorial-Khachkar (Glendale), Tsitsernakaberd Memorial (Yerevan) are depicted on the obverse of the coin with inscriptions “Armenian Genocide”, “Republic of Armenia”, “100 dram.”

Monuments commemorating the Armenian Genocide are depicted on the reverse, including the Monument to Armenian Haiduks (Ujan), a part of a monument in the shape of an eagle (Aleppo), a part of a memorial plaque – a woman’s sculpture (Sao Paulo), Khachkar (Antwerp) with the inscription “Armenian Genocide”, “1915-2015.”

Technical characteristics of the coin: mintage 1.000 pcs, the face value is 100 drams. The coins are made of 925 fine silver; diameter 50 mm and weight 67.2 grams.
