The National Bank of Belarus on September 7th, 2015 puts into circulation new silver commemorative coin “Year of the Monkey", from coin series Chinese horoscope. Oriental Calendar.
Face value of the silver coin is 20 roubles, purity 925, weight 33.63 g. diameter 38.61 mm, proof-like quality. Mintage 1000 pcs.
Obverse:
At the top — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus and the circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center — an arrangement of the clockwork elements, the Sun, and the Moon, where the center of the clockwork is inlaid with the cubic zirconia gem; on the right-hand side — the year of issue; on the left-hand side — the alloy standard; at the bottom — the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES). The inner circle contains numerals that represent years from 2013 to 2024, according to the number of years in one cycle of the Chinese lunar calendar. The clockwork elements and the Year of the Monkey (2016) are gold-plated.
Reverse:
In the center — gold-plated Chinese hieroglyph standing for a monkey within the circle formed by ornamental pattern; on each side from it – the image of two juggling monkeys against the circus big top; and at the bottom — the inscription: ГОД МАЛПЫ (THE YEAR OF MONKEY).
