President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on the denomination of the Belarusian ruble (the change in the nominal value of banknotes). According to the document, the replacement of coins and banknotes will begin in July 2016, reported the press service of the head of state, and will end on 31 December 2016.
By the decree of Lukashenka, seeking monetary signs of a sample of 2000 in the form of banknotes will be replaced with banknotes of the sample of 2009 in the form of banknotes and coins in this ratio: 10 thousand Belarusian rubles of 2000 will be equal to 1 Belarusian ruble sample in 2009.
From 1 July to 31 December 2016 banknotes 2000 and 2009 will be in parallel circulation. They will be required to receive all kinds of payments without restrictions in the above ratio. In addition, over the next five years will be the exchange of banknotes of a sample of 2000 banknotes of the sample of 2009 in any amount without restrictions and without charging Commission. From 1 January 2022 monetary signs of a sample of 2000 will be void.
To ensure that the release into circulation of banknotes of the sample of 2009 and the withdrawal from circulation of banknotes of a sample of 2000 entrusted to the National Bank of Belarus. In addition, the national Bank of the country said that the overall concept of the design of the new Belarusian banknotes correspond to the motto «My country is Belarus».
Just appeal will be issued seven denominations of banknotes — 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 rubles, and eight denominations of coins — 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents, and 1 and 2 of the ruble, reports TASS.
«Each note is dedicated to one of the areas of Belarus and Minsk. The area under the denominations specified in alphabetical order», — reported in the NBU. So, the image on the banknote in denominations of 5 rubles, devoted to the Brest region, 10 roubles, Vitebsk region, 20 rubles — Belarus 50 rubles, Grodno, 100 rubles — Minsk, 200 rubles — Mogilev, 500 rubles — Minsk. On the adverse, put in circulation change coins depicts the national emblem of the Republic of Belarus, on the reverse (back side) — numeric designation of denominations of coins.
