The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic put a new collection coin "Snow Leopard" into circulation on December 25th, 2015
The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic issued gold collection coin "Snow Leopard" with brilliant inserts to popularize and preserve rare faunal forms of Kyrgyzstan, which are in the Red Book of the country. Number of coin’s copies amounts to 1000 pieces. The coin enjoys the status of official means of payment and high international quality - proof. "Snow leopard is depicted on the new commemorative coin. The choice fell exactly on this unique animal, as snow leopard is a symbol of Kyrgyzstan nature, of our mountains. The coin belongs to the "Red Book of Kyrgyzstan" series. By issuing the coin the National Bank reminds Kyrgyzstan people to take care of the nature, especially of its rare representatives, which are on the verge of extinction", – Mr. Shamil Aidarkulov, the Head of the Cash Department of the National Bank, said.
"Snow Leopard" is the fourth gold coin issued by the National Bank. There were earlier issued gold collection coins: "Manas-1000", "Osh-3000" and "200-year anniversary of Kurmanjan Datka". The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic issued 57 coins in total: 4 gold, 41 silver, 10 cuprum-nickel and 2 German silver coins. First gold and silver coins were issued in 1995 and devoted to 1000-year anniversary of the "Manas" Epic.
Today collection coins of the Kyrgyz Republic national currency are not only original and important historic source, but also profitable financial investment and might be also considered as a valuable gift.
