16th of January 2017 the Central Bank of Armenia issued a gold commemorative coin 25th Anniversary of Formation of Armenian Army.
On January 28, 1992 the Government of Armenia passed a historic decision on the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, thus heralding the establishment of Armenian National Army.
Serving in Armenian Army is not only a matter of honor but mission for each young Armenian. Armenian Army fought a glorious way in twenty-five years to fulfill its mission with honor to the country and the people. It did not loosen vigilance for a second, reliably protecting the peace and tranquility of our borders to all kinds of abuse.
Overcoming the most difficult challenges Armenian Army was formed in the period of restoration of independent statehood. It has become the most important guarantee of maintaining the security of the Armenian people and his greatest achievement.

Reverse: an image of one of State Decorations of the Republic of Armenia – the Order of Saint Vardan Mamikonian, the coat of arms of the Armed Forces of Armenia.
Technical characteristics of the coin: mintage 500 pcs, the face value is 10000 drams. The coin is made of 900 fine gold; diameter 22 mm and weight 8.6 grams.
