CIRCULATION OF COINS IN LITHUANIA IN THE 18th CENTURY ACCORDING TO ARCHEOLOGICAL DATA

The article discusses the circulation of coins on the territory of Lithuania in the 18th century relying on individual finds of coins and hoards of coins. The length of time during which coins were circulated is analysed along with their quantity, local and regional specificity, the reasons they were found and their role at one or another period of time. Comparative information from other regions of the Lithuanian–Polish state (Belarus, Russia and Ukraine) is presented.
