On June 20th, 2017, the National Bank of Ukraine put the commemorative coin "Josyf Slipyj" of 2 hryvnia face value under Outstanding Personalities of Ukraine coin series into circulation.

The coin is made from German silver, quality− “special uncirculated”, weight – 12.8 g, diameter – 31.0 mm, mintage – 35.000 pieces. The coin edge is grooved.

Josyf Slipyj (Ukrainian: Йосиф Сліпий) (17 February 1893 – 7 September 1984) was a Major Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and a Cardinal of the Catholic Church.
