National Bank Of Georgia Issued A Collector Coin Dedicated To The Georgian Vine on July 7th 2017.

In summer 2017, Georgia is the first honorary guest and the main host of the event dedicated to viticulture and wine making at the Wine World Civilization Centre of Bordeaux.
The National Bank of Georgia has issued 5 lari denomination silver collector coin dedicated to this significant event for Georgia.
Obverse: The schematic illustration of the "Qvevri" (large earthenware vessels used for the fermentation, storage and ageing of traditional Georgian wine) represented as conventional section is the main composition of the coin. Wine in the "Qvevri" is depicted in dark red. The image of vine is embedded along the "Qvevri". The following round inscriptions are placed along the lower part of the coin's arc: "საქართველო", "2017", "GEORGIE" ("Georgia" in French), "5 ლარი".
Reverse: The main composition is a graphical illustration of the museum of wine civilization located in the city of Bordeaux, France. The denomination numeral and the symbol of Lari are depicted on the right upper side of the coin while the following French inscription is placed along the coin's arc - "LA GÉORGIE - PREMIER VIGNOBLE INVITÉ DE LA CITÉ DU VIN DE BORDEAUX" (Georgia - the first honorary guest at the Wine World Civilization Centre of Bordeaux).
The coin has been minted by Japan Mint in amount of 1500 pieces.
