The coin "Y. Altynsarin "continues a series of coins "The Fine Arts of Kazakhstan ", designed to popularize the richness of our national culture and to reveal the full range of trends in the visual arts of Kazakhstan (graphics, sculpture, painting, mosaics, etc.).

Obverse: 
In the central part of the coin is on an ornamental background the coat of arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan in a frame of a text of "KAZAKHSTAN RESPUBLIKASY" in a state language and REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN in Russian is located. In the lower part – a text "500 TENGHE", designating coin nominal, the number "2017" designating year of stamping and a text "Ag 925 31.1 g.", designating metal of which the coin, its test and weight is made. In the upper part – a text of "V. TVERDOKHLEBOV", "Y. ALTYNSARIN" in a state language and a logo of National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Reverse: 
The design of the coin uses the image of a mosaic panel of work under the guidance of the sculptor, the honored artist of Kazakhstan, the monumental artist V. Tverdokhlebov, with the participation of the monumental artist Yu. Funcorineo, dedicated to the educator, teacher, writer, ethnographer, folklorist, public figure Ybyray Altynsarin (National Academy Sciences of Kazakhstan, Almaty).
