Dedicated to the administrative-territorial unit of Ukraine, located in the south-east of the country. On the territory of the present Donetsk region 500 years ago there were Ukrainian Cossack settlements, which later formed the Kalmius palanka of the Zaporizhzhya Army Forces. Donetsk Oblast borders on the west with Zaporozhye and Dnipropetrovsk, in the northwest - with Kharkiv, in the northeast and east - with Lugansk regions of Ukraine and the Rostov region of Russia. From the south the area is washed by the Azov Sea. This is the land of industrial production and coal mining.
