50 years of the World Congress of Ukrainians
The work is devoted to the activities of the international coordinating superstructure of Ukrainian communities in the Diaspora, which over 50 years represents the interests of millions of Ukrainians in the world. The purpose of UWC activities is to spread the principles of democracy, protection of human rights, support for independence, territorial integrity, national identity and economic development of Ukraine, the spiritual homeland of Ukrainians living abroad, on the planet. Since 2003, the UWC has been recognized by the United Nations Economic and Social Council as a non-governmental organization with a special consultative status.
Obverse:
On the obverse of the coin is located: against a background of a stylized image of the model of the Earth - a decorative tree stamped under embroidery; on the left is the Small State Emblem of Ukraine and the inscription is semicircular УКРАЇНА, on the right the face value 5 / ГРИВЕНЬ (semicircular); coin issue year 2017 (below); The logo of the Banknote-Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine - in the center of a decorative tree.
Reverse:
On a reverse of a coin on a mirror background there is a stylized image of a sheaf with a pennant, which symbolizes the uniting and grouping of UWC activities around the world; on both sides from which years 1967 and 2017; circular inscriptions WORLD CONGRESS UKRAINTSIV (above), UKRAINIAN WORLD CONGRESS.
