Obverse: 
On the obverse of coins on the mirror surface there is a gilded image of the obverse of the coin with the nominal value of 1 tenge of the 1997 sample. Along the circumference of the coin its face value is placed, the year of issuing, the inscription indicating the metal of which the coin was made, its sample and weight, and the inscription “REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN”.
Reverse: 
On the reverse of the coin on the background of the placer of Kazakhstan coins of the 1993 sample, a banknote of 1 tenge is depicted. On top of the banknote there is an inscription “25 Years of Tenge” with a gilded image of the reverse of a coin of denomination of 1 tenge of the sample of 1997 and the image of coins of the sample of 1993.
