The Mausoleum of Soltan Sanjar (Mary)

The Mausoleum of Soltan Sanjar is situated in the territory of Mary velayt inside of historical park "Soltangala" fortress.
This Mausoleum was erected over the grave of the last Soltan of the state of "Great Turkmen-Seljukes" - Soltan Sanjar. Founders of this empire was the son of Seljuk, Dokak of Kynyk Oguz - Turkmen tribe. The empire of the Great Turkmen - Seljukes was founded in 1038. At the time of Soltan Sanjar it was destroyed and diveded on the other states in 1157.
The Mausoleum was erected in the XII century due to the order of Soltan Sanjar by the great Turkmen architector Muhamed the son of Atsyz from Seras. The diameter of Mausoleum is in form of curve, the thickness of the walls is 5 meters and the area of the inner part of the building is situated under the gound 4.2 meters. The lengths of the walls is 27 meters.
