The coin is dedicated to Danylo of Halych (1201-1264), Prince of Halych-Volhynian Principality and military leader. This coin continues the "Princes of Ukraine" series. In circulation since July 1, 1998.
Obverse:
On the coin obverse within a frame of an interpreted ornamental pattern of the capitals of 12th century Halych stone church with the emblematic figures of birds and lions - symbols of Halych and Lviv, there are depictions of the Small State Emblem of Ukraine, conventionalized four-line inscriptions: УКРАЇНА, 10 ГРИВЕНЬ, 1998 and the symbol of the precious metal, its fineness and weight.
Reverse:
On the coin reverse against a background of an imitated roll there is a three-view composition, combined from the portrait depiction of Prince Danylo, wearing the ceremonial attire of a warrior, as well as, old-Russian buildings and prince's troops. On the coin there is a legend: ДАНИЛО ГАЛИЦЬКИЙ 1205-1264 (above in two lines) and КНЯЖА УКРАЇНА (underneath in two lines).
