Obverse: 
On the coin obverse on the glass background within the internal ring there is a depiction of the spirals forming an egg and symbolizing a powerful breath, which life gives to all things joining them together; human life spiral, spiral motion, constant address of a human thought to spiral system. Within the external ring, above there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, the circular inscriptions: УКРАЇНА, 5, ГРИВЕНЬ, 2001 and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse within the internal ring there is a depiction of a Mother-woman with a baby - symbolizing continuity and never-ending of life; within the external ring there is a depiction of a symbolic star, around the circle there is an inscription: НА МЕЖI ТИСЯЧОЛIТЬ.
