Viacheslav Prokopovych

The commemorative coin is dedicated to 125th anniversary of birth of Viacheslav Prokopovych (1881-1942), a Ukrainian public figure, politician and statesman, pedagogue, historian, publicist.  Viacheslav Prokopovych was one of the founders of the Ukrainian Central Rada. In January - April 1918 he was a minister of national education of the Ukrainian Peoples Republic (UPR), in 1920 he was appointed as the Chairman of the UPR Council of Ministers. As emigrant abroad, Prokopovych (one of the Symon Petliura's comrades-in-arms) held positions of great trust in the UPR Government in exile. In circulation since April 10, 2006.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse in the centre there is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, underneath  the year of coinage - 2006.  There are the following circumscriptions: above - НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine), below -  ДВІ ГРИВНІ (two Hrivnias) and the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse  Prokopovych is portrayed, to the left of the portrait there is a vertical inscription: В’ЯЧЕСЛАВ / ПРОКОПОВИЧ (Viacheslav / Prokopovych), to the right -1881/ 1942, his years of life.
