The coin is dedicated to the turtle symbolizing longevity and wisdom. Issued into circulation on April 29, 2009.
Obverse:
On the coin obverse within the circle of beads there is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, above it – 2009 (the coin issue year), on the left Au 999,9 (coin metal and its fineness) and on the right – the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint and the coin weight in fineness – 1,24; between the circle and the coin edge there are the semicircular legends: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) above and 2 ГРИВНІ (2 hryvnias) underneath.
Reverse:
On the coin reversethere is depicted a turtle and are the bow-shaped inscriptions: ЧЕРЕПАХА (Turtle) above and TESTUDINES beneath.
