On the coin obverse on the he left there is a semicircular depiction of a conventionalized snowflake fragment with an inscription УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) against its relief background and the small National Emblem of Ukraine; on the right, beneath against the smooth background there are inscriptions: 2 / ГРИВНІ / 2002 (2 hryvnia/ 2002) and there is the Mint logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse to the left on the background of a glass there is a silhouette depiction of a skater; to the right on the snowflake relief background there are three-lined inscriptions: ХІХ ЗИМОВІ ОЛІМПІЙСЬКІ ІГРИ / СОЛТ-ЛЕЙК-СІТІ / 2002.
