This coin was issued to celebrate Azerbaijan’s famous vocalist and opera singer Bulbul.
Bulbul is a Azerbaijan’s great opera singer. He was born in the ancient city of Shusha, the cradle of the Azerbaijan culture/ Bulbul was known for his musical talent since his childhood, which is why people nicknamed him Bulbul (“nightingale” in Azerbaijani)ş He studied music and vocal arts in the La Scala Theatre in Milan, Italy. In the history of the Azerbaijani music, he is considered to be the first vocalist performing the European-style opera.
