Mikhas Lynkov (1899 – 1975), writer, People's writer of Belarus (1962), academician of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences (1953), Chairman of the BSSR Writers' Union (1938 – 1948), Ya. Kolas State prize winner (1958). His first works were published in 1919. He was both a prose writer and a novelist, as well as a children's writer whose books were admired by several generations of people. In his writings, M. Lynkov gives prominence to the Great Patriotic War. By portraying selfless and courageous fighters against fascism, the author shows the fighting nation collectively.
